MISSION
To find and bring to Monterrey the best of world cinema and promote the encounter between filmmakers, films and audiences, forming new spectators for quality cinema, pushing film production and placing Monterrey in the world´s film festival map.
OBJECTIVES
To give the city of Monterrey a first level space where filmmakers from Mexico and around the world can meet and show their work, promoting film culture and sharing visions with local and visiting audiences that come together for the festival.
To form audiences for quality cinema by presenting international film materials for children, youngsters and adults.
To place the City of Monterrey on the map of the most important film festivals in Mexico and the world, becoming a cultural, commercial and tourist attraction taht generates an important income for the state.
PHILOSOPHY
Film is a medium that reflects the values, traditions and characteristics of the world´s cultures, promoting understanding, trust and peace among nations. Alloting a space for this dialogue is fundamental for the advancement of humanity.
PRINCIPLES
Since its beginning, the Festival has looked to promote a cinematographic culture based on three principles:

That being exposed to film culture helps to increase awareness of communities and nations in support of their own cinematographic expressions which serve as cultural and social ambassadors to the rest of the world.

An international showcase of the best of cinema is a mirror in which to measure and compare local and national film production, establishing quality standards that will help place our films at an international level, and

That films being produced in Monterrey, Mexico and the world need to be shown. A film which is not shown doesn’t exist. Therefore it is of utmost importance to offer a space for film exhibition.
