Two movies that we remember very well… or perhaps we remember them differently.
The classic by Japanese film director Akira Kurosawa, “Rashomon”, is a movie that plays with the characters’ perspectives and what they consider true, changing our point of view as spectators; which creates drama and a script like no other.
“Monster” by Kore-eda takes these same elements of unknown context behind the characters; however, it places them in a school setting where the identity of the monster that hits children is a constant unknown.
One is a classic of cinema, and the other a recent gem by director Hirokazu Kore-eda.
